The Grin Governance Council has successfully unified, combining the previous Original Council (OC) and the Community Council (CC) into a singular leadership team focused on a new chapter for the project.
Grin funds in the process of merging into a single 4/7 MultiSig Fund.
The Council's key role is to manage and direct Grin's funding to enhance core development, ecosystem projects, bounties, and community-driven grants.

Grin is a privacy-preserving digital currency built openly by developers distributed all over the world.
Grin has no amounts and no addresses. Transactions can be trivially aggregated. To hide the origin of a newly created transaction, it gets relayed among a sub-set of peers before it is widely broadcasted.
Grin is not controlled by any company, foundation or individual. The coin distribution is designed to be as fair as possible, with an emission of 1 GRIN per second.
Mimblewimble leverages cryptography to allow past transaction data to be removed with no compromise on security. This avoids Grin collapsing under the weight of data having to be kept on chain.

Governance
Grin Governance community counsil (GGC) first meeting held at June 3 2025.
* New meeting platform formed for better transparency, community participation and governance.
* The council members voted in favor of approving the pending payments for Grincoin.org, Groundskeeper funding, and past server expenses for Grincc.mw, to be processed after the new MultiSig is arranged.
* A new meeting structure was proposed and generally agreed upon: bi-weekly meetings alternating between a development focus and a governance focus.
