Grin MimbleWimble News #30
PIBD Mainnet Testing v5.2.0-beta.2
PIBD (Parallel Independent Block Download) mainnet is being tested by GRIN ツcommunity.
What is PIBD ?
New sync method new peer-to-peer messages that are required to enable a novel sync method. This method reduces node bootstrapping time and increases overall robustness of the sync process. It introduces the concept of "segments", which are packets of self-contained partial state that can be downloaded and verified independently from each other. After downloading all segments and performing some additional verification steps, the full state can be reconstructed.
ツ GRIN MimbleWimble is an open-source, permissionless, decentralized project, led by grass root community. As a result, all Grinners are welcome to Run PIBD Mainnet, test and give feedback, and contribute to the development of GRIN.
